Passports

• Passport office hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday (except Federal & State holidays)
• Must arrive no later than 3:30 pm.
• All passports processed after 3:00 pm will be mailed the following business day.
• The passport process can take between 30 – 60 minutes! Expedite the process by pre-filling out the application before you arrive. • DO NOT sign the application before coming to our office.

What you need to bring with you when applying for a passport:

• Completed Form DS-11 (DO NOT sign the application before coming to our office.)
• U.S. birth certificate (For a fee, you may obtain a birth certificate from our office. All requests must be made by 3:30 pm, as the Louisiana Office of Vital Records closes at 4:00 pm.)
• Photo identification document (ID) when applying in person if you are:
• Over age 18
• A parent or guardian applying with your child 
• The ID must:
• Be a physical document (LA Wallet not accepted)
• Include your photo
• Be issued by the government
• A check or money order made payable to the US Department of State for your passport application fees (cash or card is not acceptable to send with your passport application)
• Cash or a credit card for fees due to the Clerk of Court’s office (the Clerk’s Office does not accept personal checks)

• Passport Photos (If you do not have a photo, our office can provide this service for $13.00, in addition to our $35.00 acceptance fee)

• If an applicant is 16 years old and over, the fee is $130.00 for passport book routine or $190.00 for expedited, or $30.00 for a passport card (not valid for air travel).
• If an applicant is 15 years old and under, the fee is $100.00 for passport book routine or $160.00 for expedited, or $15.00 for passport card (not valid for air travel).
• An additional processing fee of $35.00 per application and passport photo fee of $13.00 per person is due to the DeSoto Parish Clerk of Court either by money order, debit/credit card or cash on both of the above passport applications.

Passport renewals are completed and mailed in by the individuals. If you need a new passport photo for your renewal application, you may obtain that at our office for a fee of $13.00.

Our office is located within the DeSoto Parish Courthouse on the main floor. You must go through a security checkpoint when entering the courthouse’s main entrance located at 101 Texas Street, Mansfield, LA 71052. You will be asked to leave your phone in your vehicle or in a locker at the door.
